Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister met with Yasser Al Abbasi, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, GPIC Chairman.
During the meeting that discussed ways to utilise household waste, Al Mubarak stressed the importance of the partnership with the private sector to promote the culture of recycling, planting trees and spreading awareness of its environmental importance.
He praised GPIC's initiative to support afforestation projects and contribute to preserve the environment through recycling.
The minister noted the keenness to continue its joint work with GPIC to exchange skills and experiences as well as the projects that aim at preserving the environment.
The GPIC Chairman noted that the company seeks to contribute to afforestation projects and household waste recycling as part of the company's social commitments to support projects that serve the environment, increase green spaces, and improve urbanisation standards.
He praised the vital projects taken upon by the ministry that are focused on improving environmental standards.
