Municipalities Ministry Monitors Readiness of Infrastructure Projects in Holy Sites

Makkah: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by Makkah Municipality, continues field efforts to monitor infrastructure projects implemented by service entities within the holy sites during the 1447 AH Hajj season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the efforts are carried out through an integrated coordination and oversight system aimed at enhancing implementation quality, regulating excavation works, and maintaining the readiness of roads and facilities serving pilgrims. The work included monitoring nearly 1,986 permits issued for infrastructure projects and conducting more than 1,260 inspections of excavation permits, covering a total length exceeding 114,000 meters. These efforts come within a field framework linking the work of service entities to movement, service, and safety needs within the holy sites.

Makkah Municipality also conducted more than 1,150 field street survey visits, in addition to over 1,010 quality assurance and control inspections for infrastructure projects, achieving a compliance rate of nearly 97%. The results reflect an advanced level of oversight, precise coordination, and a commitment to minimizing the impact of fieldwork on movement and services.

Makkah Municipality works to align the activities of service entities in the holy sites, enhance implementation efficiency, and monitor compliance with permits and technical requirements, ensuring continued municipal readiness in vital locations and making completed projects more closely connected to pilgrims' comfort and safety.
