Mogadishu: Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa has met with senior Somali scholars, where the two sides held a forum titled "Somalia at the Heart of the Islamic World."

According to Saudi Press Agency, the scholars welcomed the forum and its discussions, which focused on ways to counter extremist ideas that are alien to the Somali people's Islamic approach. The discussions highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of such ideas and ways to prevent them.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on a joint project comprising a number of specialized initiatives and programs to strengthen scholarly and intellectual cooperation between the MWL and Somali scholars.
