MWL Condemns Colombia’s Recognition of Israeli Sovereignty over Occupied Syrian Golan Heights

Riyadh: The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the Colombian government's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

According to Saudi Press Agency, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa denounced the recognition, stressing that it violates international law and relevant international resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981.

The resolution declared Israel's decision to impose its laws, jurisdiction, and administration on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights null and void and without legal effect.

Al-Issa reaffirmed that the Golan Heights is occupied Syrian Arab territory, stressing that any actions or decisions to the contrary are null, rejected, and condemned. He warned that such positions undermine international law and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
