MWL Condemns Storming of Saudi Cultural Attaché Building in Sudan

The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned the storming of the cultural attaché building of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and the vicious looting and vandalism that took place in the building.

In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the MWL, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, stressed the need to respect international conventions and norms that guarantee the sanctity and safety of the headquarters of diplomatic missions.

Dr. Al-Issa noted the great diplomatic efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the crisis in Sudan through communication with all the conflicting parties to reach a comprehensive and peaceful solution to the crisis.

At the same time, he called for the immediate cessation of military operations and for the interests of[the Sudanese people to be given priority.
