The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the start of preliminary talks between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, hosted in Jeddah, at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.

The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, President of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, expressed his hope that this initiative will contribute to a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, in preparation for finding a final solution to this painful crisis plaguing Sudan and its people.

MWL’s Secretary-General praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Sudanese people in this dangerous situation, and the effort to intensify communication with the conflicting parties to reach a comprehensive and peaceful solution, as well as the effort related to the evacuation of nationals and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
