Najran: Najran University made a strong showing at the 12th International Exhibition of Inventions (IEI 2026), which concluded today in Guangzhou, China, winning the Grand Prize, the Judges' Award, and the Best International Pavilion Award, along with seven gold and four silver medals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the exhibition featured around 3,700 inventions from 29 countries. The Grand Prize went to an invention by Associate Professor of Radiology and Consultant Radiologist at Najran University, Dr. Yasser Idris Al-Malki. He developed an innovative technology to enhance mammogram images and support the early detection of breast cancer by improving the clarity of details and fine tissue structures in medical images. The technology could help radiologists identify early signs of the disease and can be integrated with artificial intelligence and computer-aided diagnosis applications.

On the institutional front, Najran University won the Best International Pavilion Award at the exhibition in recognition of its comprehensive showcase of innovations and research projects. This provided an opportunity to highlight the university's scientific achievements and engage with visitors, inventors, researchers, and participating institutions.
