Mecca: The National Center for Wildlife continues implementing its field and preventive plans across the holy sites through specialized teams operating around the clock to enhance pilgrims' safety and preserve environmental balance in areas of their presence and movement.
According to Saudi Press Agency, field teams are conducting proactive, continuous inspections to secure pilgrims' routes and gathering areas, monitor reptiles and wildlife that could affect public safety, and respond immediately to field cases through rapid procedures that raise preparedness during the Hajj season.
These efforts over the past three Hajj seasons have contributed to achieving a Hajj season free of baboons within the holy sites area, in addition to reducing reports of wildlife-related incidents, reflecting the effectiveness of field plans and the integration of efforts to protect both pilgrims and the environment.
