Jeddah: In celebration of Saudi National Day, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), in collaboration with public and private sector entities, is organizing a nationwide series of events and shows featuring air, sea, and land displays, along with fireworks, across various cities in the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, celebrations began yesterday in Jeddah, where the city's skies witnessed an air show at 5:00 p.m., running through Sunday, September 20. Staged by the Ministry of Defense, represented by the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Saudi Hawks team, the aerial displays also feature flyovers by Saudia with a Boeing 787-9 and flyadeal with an Airbus A320neo.
In Riyadh, the main multi-sector show celebrating Saudi National Day will be held on September 22 and 23 starting at 4:00 p.m., with live coverage broadcast on Saudi TV. Doors will open to the public at 2:00 p.m. The Royal Guard will participate with a Guard of Honor parade, during which its military band will perform the Saudi Royal Anthem. The Ministry of National Guard will also take part with helicopter formations and its military band, while the Presidency of State Security, represented by Security Aviation, will lead the air show with a helicopter carrying the Saudi flag.
Riyadh Air will also participate with one of its Boeing 787 aircraft, while the Royal Saudi Land Forces, Border Guard, and Aviation Club will have dedicated pavilions within the show area in Malham as part of the activities accompanying the main show.
Alongside the air shows, Jeddah will host naval displays organized by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, featuring several naval vessels and adding another dimension to the celebrations along the Red Sea coast. The General Directorate of Border Guard will also stage displays across several cities, including a land parade and a maritime foot parade along the ROSHN Waterfront Corniche in Jeddah; a land parade along the Yanbu Corniche and a maritime parade at Sharm Yanbu; vehicle and foot parades on Art Street in Abha; as well as a foot parade and a boat parade along the waterfront corniche in Al-Birk Governorate.
The celebrations will also extend to Eastern Region, where the Al-Khobar waterfront will host air shows on September 26 and 27 at 4:30 p.m., featuring military aircraft alongside the first-ever participation of Aloula Aviation, as part of the series of events celebrating Saudi National Day. Fireworks displays will also take place at 9:00 p.m. on September 23 in nine cities across the Kingdom: Riyadh, Al-Khobar, Madinah, Jeddah, Hail, Arar, Al-Baha, Tabuk, and Buraidah, as part of the Saudi National Day celebrations.
