Arafat: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) conducted field readings of weather conditions in Arafat as part of research studies aimed at monitoring weather conditions in the holy sites and assessing the impact of projects implemented to mitigate weather phenomena, particularly high temperatures.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the projects included the installation of 18 shade structures covering an area exceeding 11,700 square meters. Authorities also deployed 36 misting fans to help cool and moderate the atmosphere.
A ground-cooling system was implemented across an area of 63,000 square meters, representing a fivefold increase compared with last year.
The efforts coincide with projects implemented by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites through its executive arm, Kidana, in partnership with several relevant entities to improve the climatic environment in the holy sites and enhance pilgrims' comfort.
