Northern Borders Region Marks International Museum Day with Rich Heritage Collections

Riyadh: Private museums in Northern Borders Region are attracting increasing attention from visitors, historians, and folklore enthusiasts on International Museum Day, as repositories of rare collectibles, historical tools, photographs, and documents that narrate the region's history from its earliest settlements to modern development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, among the region's pioneering collectors is Zahiah Al-Anazi, who dedicated a space in her home to a heritage museum displaying ancient items, including a traditional bride's room, northern costumes, copper household utensils, and Sadu weaving.

Northern Borders Region also documents the legacy of the Tapline project, which connected oil wells in eastern Saudi Arabia to the port of Sidon in Lebanon from 1950 until pumping ceased in 1990, leaving a lasting social and developmental impact on the region.
