Senior Space Data Analyst at Bahrain’s National Space Science Agency (NSSA), Shaima Shawqi Al-Meer, has won the “Woman Innovator of the Year Award-Below 35 Years” during the 4th International Inspirational Women Awards 2023, organised by GISR Foundation in recognition of women’s commitment, courage and confidence across dimensions and geographical boundaries.
The GISR Foundation recognised Shaima Al-Meer for being a pioneer in the field of data analysis and information technology, as well as a young Bahraini social activist who has made positive change among her generation and in society with her innovative ideas and strong determination. Thanks to her dedication and hard work, Al-Meer deserved the best innovator for the year 2023.
NSSA’s Senior Space Data Analyst expressed deep pride in her achievement, which adds to her previous accomplishments, including her success in winning “Bahraini Female Pioneer in Technology” title. She added that she is known as the “First Robotics Programmer in the Kingdom of Bahrain”.
She asserted that the global award confirms Bahraini women’s distinguished ability to attain landmark achievements, and make positive changes in their society.
Commenting, NSSA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Aseeri, congratulated Shaima Al-Meer on her well-deserved achievement, through which she contributed to promoting the kingdom’s image, and confirming the unlimited support enjoyed by women in Bahrain, which enabled them to shine in various fields.
