Basra - The Omani national football team achieved an important victory over its Saudi counterpart, with two goals to one, on Thursday evening at the Olympic Port Stadium, in the presence of an audience that filled the stands for the third round in Group A of the 25th Gulf Championship held in Basra Governorate.

The Omani team took the lead in the 34th minute through its player Munther Al-Alawi, and the score was equalized for Saudi Arabia by the player Turki Al-Ammari in the 40th minute of the match, so that the first half ended with a tie 1-1 for the two teams.

In the second half, the Omani team scores a second goal in the 85th minute by the player Harith, to end the match with the Omanis advancing 2-1 and accompanying the Iraqi team to the second round in the 25th Gulf Championship.
