Washington: The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission to the US has announced that 267 Saudi students are currently enrolled in space and space sciences programs at various American universities. This announcement coincides with World Space Week, underscoring the students’ academic pursuits in engineering, science, and space operations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the mission emphasized the importance of training these specialists for the Kingdom’s future. The presence of Saudi students in these fields plays a significant role in localizing space industries, enhancing the efficiency of the national research, development, and innovation system, and strengthening scientific cooperation between Saudi and US universities.
This specialized academic focus also encourages students to engage in cooperative training programs, joint research, and the publication of scientific papers in specialized journals. The celebration of World Space Week serves as an ideal opportunity to highlight Saudi success stories in the space sector and to affirm the complementary roles of the Ministry of Education and national space agencies in achieving global competitiveness.
