Riyadh: The General Directorate of Passports has urged citizens wishing to travel outside the Kingdom to safeguard their passports, protect them from damage or loss, avoid neglect, pledging, or misuse, and keep them in safe places. The directorate stressed the importance of verifying the validity of passports for travelers and their accompanying family members before departing the Kingdom. Passports must be valid for at least three months when traveling to Arab countries and six months when traveling to other destinations. It also emphasized that travelers to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries must carry either a valid passport or a national identity card.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the advice comes as part of efforts to ensure that citizens face no inconvenience during their travel plans. The General Directorate of Passports aims to prevent any travel disruptions that might occur due to expired or invalid travel documents. The requirement for passport validity is particularly crucial as it aligns with international travel regulations and agreements with other countries.
