PIF and Aramco Finalize HUMAIN Transaction to Boost AI Growth

Riyadh:The Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Aramco have announced the completion of a transaction through which Aramco, via a wholly owned subsidiary, has acquired a 49% stake in HUMAIN. PIF retains a 51% ownership in the company.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this transaction is set to accelerate HUMAIN's global growth in artificial intelligence (AI). Both PIF and Aramco will contribute AI assets, capabilities, and talent to enhance HUMAIN's efforts in developing an integrated AI ecosystem. The initiative includes expanding data center capacity by 2030 and providing solutions for large-scale AI deployment in public and private sectors.

The collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia's push to advance data and AI technologies while fostering talent and investment opportunities. PIF's strategy, benefiting from the kingdom's competitive market, aims to integrate economic ecosystems and boost national companies' global competitiveness. Aramco intends to utilize HUMAIN's AI infrastructure to improve industrial applications and enhance its global operations.

As part of this partnership, Aramco will make cash contributions of approximately SAR9.9 billion ($2.6 billion) to HUMAIN in 2026, along with AI, compute, and digital assets. Since its launch in May 2025, HUMAIN has been building full-stack AI capabilities and aims to become a leading global exporter of AI by scaling its AI data center capacity to 3 gigawatts by 2030.
