Hail Province Deputy Governor Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz visited the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) at its headquarters in Riyadh, where he was received by Chief Executive Dr. Khaled Al-Abdulkader and the NCVC’s leadership. The visit included an introduction to the center’s departments, its key activities and objectives, as well as a presentation of its achievements and future plans for the Hail region, NCVC said in a news release.
Prince Faisal highlighted the dedication of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to environmental conservation and sustainable solutions. He stressed aligning these efforts with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance quality of life and foster a healthy, positive environment. He praised the NCVC’s work to rehabilitate degraded vegetation areas, combat desertification, and re
store biodiversity across natural ecosystems.
The NCVC’s Dr. Al-Abdulkader expressed his gratitude for Prince Faisal’s visit and ongoing support for the NCVC’s mission in the Hail region. He also emphasized the importance of the prince’s engagement in driving efforts to meet the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.
The NCVC has undertaken key projects in Hail, including seed dispersal for native plants and trees, regulating grazing in natural rangelands, restoring ecological balance in valleys, and enhancing national parks. The center submitted Salma Geopark for consideration as part of UNESCO’s Global Geopark Network, which would help boost ecotourism in the region. Meanwhile, investment initiatives in the region’s national parks are already underway.
