Riyadh: The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy has emerged as a specialized cultural landmark that underscores the significance of Arabic calligraphy as an integral part of Islamic civilized identity. This initiative aims to promote and preserve this traditional art form through various means, including education, research, museum exhibitions, and cultural programs.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the center spans over 5,000 square meters with a built-up area exceeding 9,000 square meters, designed to uphold environmental sustainability standards. It incorporates solar energy systems, natural lighting, and utilizes local building materials such as volcanic basalt stones to achieve its eco-friendly goals.

The three-floor facility encompasses a permanent museum, multiple exhibition halls, a comprehensive library, specialized calligraphy studios, a theater, and training and administrative facilities. The museum is home to more than 56 pieces that trace the evolution of Arabic calligraphy, showcasing artifacts from early Quranic manuscripts and Islamic coins to modern-day artworks. These exhibits narrate the journey of Arabic calligraphy and its dissemination across Islamic civilizations in regions such as Africa, China, and India.
