Paris: The intricate beauty and artistic quality of Arabic calligraphy captivated the audience at “Arab Week at UNESCO”, held on November 4-5 in Paris, showcasing the richness and cultural significance of this timeless art form. Organized by the Arab Group at UNESCO and spearheaded by Saudi Arabia through the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, the event highlights the historical and artistic importance of Arabic calligraphy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy, under the Ministry of Culture, presented Arabic calligraphy as a cherished cultural artifact and art form, illustrating its evolution over centuries. The center served as a focal point at the event, featuring a museum, exhibition space, and an institute for Arabic calligraphy, as well as being a platform for Arab and Muslim calligraphers from around the world.
