Al-Oudah Mosque, which underwent three renovations, the latest of which was a decade and a half ago, is one of the oldest historical mosques in Riyadh and one of the heritage buildings in Al-Diriyah Governorate, which made Prince Mohammed bin Salman project to develop historic mosques, in its second phase, includes the mosque, with the aim of restoring it to its original form and content, preserving its history and highlighting its distinctive urban heritage.
The Project will renovate the mosque as per the Najd pattern, which uses mud construction techniques and natural materials and is known for its ability to cope with the local environment and the hot desert climate.
According to the project data, the area of Al-Oudah Mosque, which was a mud mosque, will increase from 794 square meters to 1,369.82 square meters, and its capacity will increase from 510 worshippers to 992.
Al-Oudah Mosque is one of 30 mosques that will be renovated under the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project's second phase, covering all 13 regions of the Kingdom. The project will renovate six mosques in Riyadh, five mosques in Makkah, four mosques in Madinah, three mosques in Asir, two mosques in each of the Eastern Region, Al-Jouf, and Jazan, and one mosque in each of the Northern Borders Region, Tabuk, Al-Baha, Najran, Hail, and Qassim
