Mecca: The General Presidency of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has activated a service for broadcasting awareness messages through a 'location notifications' feature in Makkah and Madinah via the Mabroor app. The service aims to deliver awareness content on Hajj, Umrah, and visits with high efficiency by sending notifications directly to pilgrims' smartphones based on their location within the targeted areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen the digital services ecosystem. It complements the commission's ongoing initiatives to leverage information technology in serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques in accordance with the highest standards of quality and excellence.
