Qatari Ministry Delegation Explores Saudi Bankruptcy System

Riyadh: The Saudi Bankruptcy Committee (EISAR) recently hosted a delegation from the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry to foster cooperation, share expertise, and explore the development of Saudi Arabia's bankruptcy system and its legislative and regulatory framework.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Qatari delegation was briefed on EISAR's initiatives to support the implementation of the bankruptcy system. The discussions highlighted the importance of procedural efficiency and the effectiveness of the system in managing financial distress, promoting business continuity, and preserving the economic value of enterprises.

EISAR shared insights into the regulatory and procedural aspects of the bankruptcy system, including preventive settlement, financial reorganization, and liquidation procedures. The discussions also focused on protecting creditors' and debtors' rights, achieving a balance among stakeholders' interests, and the role of trustees and experts in the system, along with their qualification and professional development processes.
