Religious Affairs President Engages in Discussion with Malaysian Minister

Riyadh: President of the Religious Affairs for the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais received Minister of Religious Affairs of Malaysia Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and his delegation at his office today. The meeting focused on topics of mutual interest, particularly in promoting the moderate message of the two holy mosques and spreading the values of tolerance and moderation while rejecting terrorism and extremism.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Sudais praised the strong relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of enhancing Islamic unity and furthering the dissemination of the moderate Islamic approach as outlined in the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. He acknowledged the Malaysian people’s adherence to the regulations and laws set by the authorities of the two holy mosques and commended the discipline shown by Malaysian pilgrims and Umrah performers.

The Malaysian minister expressed his gratitude for the Kingdom’s significant efforts in serving Islam and Muslims and its services to the two holy mosques and their visitors. He also recognized the efforts of the Religious Affairs Presidency in facilitating visits by esteemed imams of the two holy mosques to Malaysia. He specifically noted the visit of Imam and Khatib of the Grand Mosque Sheikh Dr. Maher Al-Muaiqly, which had a considerable impact on Muslims in Malaysia.
