Riyadh to Host OCA Regional Forum Later Today

Riyadh, Dec 4, 2022, SPA -- The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee will host, for the first time in its history, later today and over the course of four days, the regional forum of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), organized by the Council with the participation of 45 Asian Olympic committees and a number of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) leaders.

During the forum, the heads of Asian delegations of the countries of West and South Asia will hold today and tomorrow preparatory meetings to discuss the preparations of the Asian countries participating in the Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024), present all developments and views related to the Olympic Games, and discuss them with the heads of delegations of East Asian countries on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The forum will also discuss the developments of the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, from Sept 23 to Oct 8, 2023, and the World Martial Arts Games 2023 to be held in Riyadh from October 22 to November 2 and the Sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Thailand in November 2023, as well as the Seventh Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (Riyadh 2025), the Asian Games (Nagoya 2026), the Asian Winter Games (Trogna 2029), the Asian Games (Doha 2030), and the Asian Games (Riyadh 2034).

The forum will review issues of management and financial governance, financial evaluation and auditing, financial policy, Olympic values programs, and the methods of the National Olympic Committees in communicating knowledge and information to members of society, and exchanging experiences among them.

On the sidelines of the forum, a race (FunRun) will be held for guests and heads of Asian delegations to promote the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
