Safar Crescent Moon to Grace Skies Across Arab World After Sunset

Riyadh: The crescent moon marking the start of the month of Safar will be visible after sunset this evening, creating a striking celestial display that can be observed and photographed across the Arab world. Head of the Jeddah Astronomy Society Majed Abu Zahra said the moon reached conjunction yesterday at 12:43 p.m. Makkah time, the point at which the sun and moon share nearly the same celestial longitude.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Abu Zahra noted that the moon's daily shift across the sky also serves as a natural guide for locating stars and planets, adding that observing the crescent moon offers an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the night sky while gaining a deeper understanding of the predictable motion of celestial bodies.
