Hanoi:The fifth meeting of the Security Coordination Committee of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council was co-chaired by Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz and Bahraini Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Thursday via videoconference.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the meeting was conducted to strengthen existing security cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, following the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He highlighted the strong historical and fraternal ties between the two countries, serving as a model of cooperation across various fields.
The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual security interest, address regional challenges, and review the implementation of agreements from the previous meeting held in Manama. The Saudi interior minister praised the efforts of both countries' working teams in implementing initiatives, such as boosting cybersecurity collaboration and combating extremist ideology among youth.
Additionally, the meeting marked the launch of the second phase of a "one-stop" system initiative for smoother passenger crossing at the King Fahd Causeway. Participants discussed several agenda items to further security collaboration, aligning with the objectives of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council.
The meeting concluded with Prince Abdulaziz and Shaikh Rashid signing the minutes of the committee's fifth meeting.
