Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have jointly renewed their condemnation of Iranian attacks. These nations assert that the actions represent a violation of sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law, international humanitarian law, and the Charter of the United Nations, whether executed directly by Iran or through proxies and armed factions it supports in the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the coalition of nations specifically highlighted attacks executed by Iran-backed armed factions from Iraq against multiple countries in the region, targeting facilities and infrastructure. These actions are described as breaches of international laws and conventions, directly violating United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2817 (2026), which calls for an immediate and unconditional halt to Iranian attacks or threats against neighboring states, including those conducted via proxies.
The involved nations emphasized the importance of their fraternal relations with the Republic of Iraq, urging the Iraqi government to take necessary measures to stop attacks initiated by factions, militias, and armed groups from Iraqi territory. The goal is to maintain brotherly relations and prevent further escalation in tensions.
Reaffirming their right to self-defense as per Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, the nations declared their intent to take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability against these aggressive acts. They also condemned destabilizing activities targeting regional security, organized by Iran-affiliated sleeper cells and terrorist organizations linked to Hezbollah. The statement praised their armed forces and security agencies for their role in countering these threats and apprehending agent cells and terrorist organizations, thus safeguarding the safety of their nations and citizens.
