Saudi Arabia Inaugurates Pavilion at 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair

Frankfurt:The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has inaugurated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair, which is being held from October 7 to 11 at Messe Frankfurt.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this participation is part of the commission’s efforts to empower Saudi literary talent and showcase the Kingdom's literary landscape, while also strengthening cultural ties with Germany.

The pavilion features various Saudi governmental and cultural entities, led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, creating a comprehensive display of the nation's literary, publishing, and cultural institutions.

A series of seminars will be held at the pavilion, focusing on literary translation's role in knowledge transfer and intercultural dialogue. These events will also address the challenges in translating literature between languages and discuss the ongoing changes in Saudi publishing.

CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel expressed that showcasing Saudi Arabia's literary scene at the fair highlights the strong literary and cultural relations between Saudi Arabia and Germany, with the pavilion offering insights into the Kingdom's creative diversity. The commission reaffirms its dedication to empowering the literary sector and promoting global cultural dialogue.
