Saudi Arabia Maintains Top Position in Global Date Exports

Riyadh:The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has secured its status as the leading exporter of dates by value worldwide for the fourth year running, with exports reaching SAR1.938 billion in 2025. This achievement highlights the growing significance of the date sector in contributing to the agricultural GDP under the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Ahmed Al-Mousa, CEO of the National Center for Palms and Dates, credited this success to the support from Saudi leadership and the collaborative efforts of government entities, private enterprises, and industry partners. These efforts have optimized supply chains and enhanced export efficiency.

Al-Mousa emphasized that the initiative by the national center has been instrumental in enabling Saudi date exports to access global markets. Saudi dates are now exported to approximately 125 countries worldwide, underscoring the strong global demand for their quality, safety standards, and variety.

Saudi Arabia boasts over 37 million palm trees across its regions, with total annual date production exceeding 1.9 million tons. This solidifies the Kingdom's leadership in both cultivation and output. The National Center for Palms and Dates is actively implementing programs to upgrade the sector's value chain and bolster the competitive presence of Saudi dates in international retail markets.
