Since its establishment nearly 90 years ago, Saudi Aramco has contributed positively to the development of communities. It has launched many initiatives and programs that embody its strategic direction. It has sought to activate its resources to enable its employees to participate in supporting charitable initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. About twenty years ago, specifically in 2002, it launched the Saudi Aramco Employee Donation Program (SAEDP) to enhance the participation of the company's employees in community giving by facilitating their donations, with the company's commitment to pay a similar amount of the donations to double the impact.
Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Services at Saudi Aramco, Nabeel A. Al-Jama, said that the SAEDP aims to provide a positive social impact by supporting local public benefits associations and promoting the values of social solidarity, in addition to motivating employees for this noble humanitarian work. He indicated that the company's Citizenship Executive Committee supervises the giving program, supported by the citizenship strategy in Saudi Aramco, to maximize the positive impact of the initiative and adopt a systematic method to identify, support, and improve the lives of people in need, in addition to measuring the impact of this support on an ongoing basis.
He stressed Saudi Aramco's keenness to be an inspiring model of giving, as its contributions reflect the integration of its role in achieving community solidarity and uniting efforts through essential partnerships with several associations to deliver donations to people and families in need to improve their lives by supporting three main areas: social, medical, and educational.
He indicated that the company seeks to organize employee donation campaigns annually during the holy month of Ramadan, noting that in 2022, more than 18,000 Saudi Aramco employees donated.
He stated that, based on the continuation of the spirit of giving and in line with the Kingdom's efforts and in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership in organizing a widespread campaign to help the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkiye, Saudi Aramco launched a fundraising campaign that is consistent with the company's values and its keenness to be proactive in providing humanitarian support and assistance. Therefore, more than 23,000 male and female employees provided donations, which reflects the indelible impact of our community in Saudi Aramco. This campaign achieved two records: the highest employee participation and the most significant donations ever collected through employee campaigns. The company delivered a sum of money that exceeded SAR 23 million to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to support the affected people in Syria and Turkiye.
He added, "We believe that at the heart of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 is a great ambition to achieve a massive economic transformation within the next few years. We are certain that this transformation under our wise leadership ensures the improvement of the quality of life and the development and empowerment of individuals' capabilities. There are various tireless efforts to achieve these goals, so in Saudi Aramco, we are proud of our role and contribution, which serve the nation and achieve the ambitious vision."
