Riyadh: A trio of Saudi boxing team members, Nawaf Al-Juhani, Muhannad Majrashi and Adel Al-Mutairi, advanced to the finals at the Gulf Youth Games, which began today at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) Secretary General Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baeshen.
The triple qualification came with Al-Juhani defeating his Emirati counterpart Nawaf Al-Murshidi in the 48 kg category, his teammate Majrashi defeating his Emirati counterpart Ahmed Al-Mansouri in the 51 kg category, and Al-Mutairi defeating Qatar’s Mohammed Al-Faji in the 57 kg competition.
The Saudi national boxing team will complete its participation during tomorrow’s competitions, starting at five pm KSA time. Al-Juhani, Majrashi, and Al-Mutairi join teammate Ahmed Kashmiri, who already qualified for the 71 kg final.
