Riyadh: The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) is scheduled to honor the winners of the first edition of the Energy Efficiency Award tomorrow evening, recognizing government, private, and nonprofit sector entities, as well as individuals, during a ceremony held under the patronage of Minister of Energy and Chairman of SEEC's Board of Directors Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Hall at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this recognition honors outstanding national efforts in energy efficiency, aiming to motivate all sectors and distinguished individuals, encourage the adoption of the highest local and international standards, and promote sustainable, positive practices. The award also seeks to highlight the importance of improving energy consumption efficiency, foster better consumption practices, and draw lessons from successful experiences in the field.
The award targets the government, private, and nonprofit sectors, as well as the community and individuals, through three main tracks. The first track focuses on efficiency and rationalization, recognizing the best entities that have implemented sustainable energy-efficiency initiatives and achieved savings in their facilities.
The second track focuses on development and innovation, awarding the best developmental and innovative idea that contributes to enhancing energy efficiency. The third track emphasizes awareness and influence, awarding the most effective efforts that raise public awareness about energy efficiency and the importance of rationalizing consumption.
