Saudi Ministry of Environment Signs MoU with Kyrgyz Counterpart on Environmental Protection at Conclusion of the Work of Saudi-Kyrgyz Committee

Riyadh– Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli has stressed the importance of developing economic, trade, cultural and scientific relations between Saudi Arabia and the Kyrgyz Republic through joint mechanisms and programs.

Al-Fadhli made his remarks during the Ministerial Meeting of the third session of the Saudi-Kyrgyz Joint Committee, which concluded its work today in Riyadh, under the chairmanship of the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The Saudi minister of environment stated that this meeting represents a practical step and an effective method to enhance bilateral cooperation and activate the general agreement signed between the two countries in 2014, Bishkek , referring to the availability of many promising opportunities for cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, technology and science, and hailing the role of the private sector in implementing economic cooperation projects related to trade and investment exchange between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the ministerial meeting, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision in the Kyrgyz Republic signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields of the environment and biodiversity, mainly protecting and preserving the environment, developing vegetation cover, reducing pollution and combating desertification, and committing to taking the necessary measures to reduce its effects on the environment and people.
