Riyadh:The Saudi Quality Mark aids consumers in identifying products that adhere to the highest conformity standards amid growing product options in the Saudi market. According to Saudi Press Agency, the certification process for the Saudi Quality Mark involves five stages: meeting standard requirements, field evaluation, conformity verification, product licensing, and ongoing follow-up. Securing a license is just one step in an ongoing process, ensuring that products consistently maintain conformity. By the end of July 2026, the number of products with licenses had reached approximately 456,410, an increase from 422,713 at the end of 2025. This reflects a 206% growth from 2022 to 2025. Eng. Wael AlTheyab, spokesperson for the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, mentioned that while obtaining the mark is optional for most products, it is mandatory for high-risk items such as cement, reinforcing steel bars, ceramic tiles, gas appliances, and electrical extensions to ensure superior safety a nd quality. He further explained that the mark aids facilities in enhancing product development, boosting competitiveness, and fostering trust between producers and consumers.
