Makkah: Members of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association are actively fulfilling their volunteer mission at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, 1447 AH. This endeavor highlights the Kingdom's commitment to fostering a culture of peace and volunteerism in alignment with its humanitarian values.
According to Saudi Press Agency, over 750 scouts and scout leaders are participating in a volunteer program aimed at assisting Umrah performers and worshippers. The initiative, which continues through the end of Ramadan, supports relevant authorities in aiding visitors to the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.
The volunteer efforts are part of the 'Messengers of Peace' global initiative, which aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative emphasizes developing youth leadership, promoting peace education, and reinforcing values of sustainability and active citizenship, thereby projecting a positive image of Saudi youth engaged in humanitarian work.
The scouts' responsibilities include supporting the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security, aiding security patrols in central areas, organizing visitor movement, and providing guidance services in collaboration with the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. These efforts contribute to enhancing the movement and service quality for visitors.
In total, more than 400 participants are stationed in Makkah, while over 350 operate in Madinah. Together, they demonstrate the values of volunteerism and community service, working cohesively to ensure a smoother experience for all visitors.
