Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's youth handball team will begin its campaign in the 11th Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship in Jordan tomorrow, facing Qatar in the opening round of the group stage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the U18 championship runs from August 20 to 31, with the Green Falcons facing Iran on Friday, followed by a match against Syria on Sunday. It will conclude the preliminary round with a match against Kuwait on Wednesday.
The Saudi team seeks a positive start with a victory over Qatar in Group B, which also includes Kuwait, Syria, and Iran. It aims to advance through the group stage, secure a place in the quarterfinals, and continue its campaign toward the title.
The team is also seeking qualification for the World Championship for the fourth time in its history, following appearances in the 2019, 2023, and 2025 editions.
Saudi Arabia completed its preparations through an intensive training program that included a 21-day overseas camp in Slovenia, where the team played several friendly matches.
The preparations also featured internal gatherings and camps designed to sharpen the squad's technical and physical readiness ahead of the continental competition.
