A medical team at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has managed to intervene quickly and save the life of a 69-year-old Senegalese pilgrim who suffered a cardiac arrest before boarding the plane.
The Jeddah Health Directorate noted that the pilgrim arrived at the medical centre of the Hajj and Umrah lounge complex at the airport while suffering from acute stomach pain. After check-ups, it was discovered that she had chronic illnesses. In the meantime, her pulse and breath stopped, and she was taken to the emergency room. Twenty-seven minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed on her, and her heart responded, and the pulse resumed. The pilgrim was later transferred to the King Abdullah Medical Complex to complete her treatment.
