SDAIA, ITU, and ICAIRE Call on Global University Students to Compete in AI Readiness Hackathon

Madinah: The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), has extended an invitation to university students in Saudi Arabia and around the globe to register for the AI Readiness Hackathon. This initiative aims to empower a new generation of innovators and researchers, enhancing their readiness to develop solutions that contribute to a future well-prepared for AI technologies. The hackathon forms part of international efforts to support responsible innovation and build capacity in this field.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the AI Readiness Hackathon is focused on developing practical solutions using AI technologies across four key sectors: education, health, agriculture, and finance. Participants will work on applications designed to improve service quality, increase operational efficiency, enhance sustainability, and support data- and AI-driven decision-making. These efforts are anticipated to positively impact economic and social development while aligning with global trends in advanced technology utilization.

Registration for the hackathon will remain open until July 10, 2026. Introductory and mentoring sessions are scheduled from July 10 to August 31, 2026, with the final project evaluation and presentations occurring on September 14, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
