SDAIA President Reviews Makkah Route Initiative at Jeddah Airport

Jeddah: Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi affirmed that the Makkah Route Initiative has become a unique global model reflecting the Kingdom's leadership in harnessing artificial intelligence technologies to facilitate the journey of pilgrims. Implemented by the Ministry of Interior in its eighth year, the initiative cooperates with several government agencies across 17 entry points in 10 countries to process pilgrims in record time, reflecting the Saudi leadership's unlimited support.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Alghamdi made his statement during an inspection tour at the Makkah Route Initiative terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where he reviewed the operational and technical integration mechanisms designed to expedite procedures in pilgrims' home countries. This enables them to travel directly to Makkah upon arrival.

Following the tour, Alghamdi stated that the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's advanced progress in using data and smart technological solutions to manage the Hajj ecosystem. He noted that SDAIA works closely with relevant Hajj authorities to develop innovative tech solutions that ensure the speed and accuracy of travel procedures. This collaboration aligns directly with the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build an integrated digital system to serve pilgrims and Umrah performers year-round.
