Severe Weather Conditions Expected Across Multiple Regions in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy rain, flash floods, and strong winds are anticipated in several regions of Saudi Arabia on Monday, as reported by the National Center for Meteorology. Areas including Eastern, Riyadh, Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, Najran, Qassim, Hail, Madinah, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders are likely to experience significant weather disruptions. Hail and dust-stirring winds are expected, potentially leading to reduced visibility. Fog may develop in certain areas, and there is a possibility of light snow over the highlands in the Tabuk Region. According to Saudi Press Agency, wind patterns over the Red Sea will vary, with northerly to northeasterly winds at speeds of 10-30 km/h in the northern part, and southerly to southeasterly winds at 15-40 km/h in the central and southern parts. Speeds may exceed 50 km/h during thunderstorms, causing the sea to range from calm to choppy, with wave heights varying from half a meter to over two meters. In the Arabian Gulf, winds are forecasted to be sou therly to southeasterly at speeds of 12-35 km/h, potentially reaching over 50 km/h in the presence of thunderclouds. Similar to the Red Sea, wave heights in the Gulf will also range from half a meter to over two meters, with the sea conditions expected to be calm to choppy.
