Sheikh Al-Aql and Patriarch Al-Rahi Urge Election of Lebanese President Next Thursday

Beirut: Sheikh Al-Aql, Sami Abi Al-Mona, and Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, have made a joint appeal to Lebanese officials and Members of Parliament. They are urging them to fulfill their responsibilities by electing a new president for Lebanon next Thursday.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the appeal came during a phone conversation between Sheikh Abi Al-Mona and Patriarch Al-Rahi. The call followed Sheikh Abi Al-Mona’s well-wishes to the Patriarch on the occasions of Christmas and New Year. Both leaders emphasized the importance of electing a president on January 9, highlighting the need for political accountability and leadership in the country.
