Riyadh: Fresh Shishi dates have witnessed strong demand from consumers in local date markets with the start of the early fresh date harvest season, as they are considered one of the finest fresh date varieties due to their sweet taste, soft texture, and abundant production, making them highly popular among consumers during the season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Palms and Dates said fresh Shishi dates begin to ripen in mid-June. They are consumed both as fresh dates and dried dates, range in size from medium to large, and have a long cylindrical shape. The center noted that the variety is cultivated in a number of regions and governorates across the Kingdom.
