Skills Accelerator Initiative Enhances Workforce Readiness in Saudi Arabia

Accra:The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is enhancing the skills of Saudi workers in the private sector through the 'Skills Accelerator' initiative, offering training programs tailored to labor-market needs.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to develop the skills of over 300,000 beneficiaries. It has already delivered more than 590 training programs across over 10 priority labor-market sectors. Specialized programs focus on professional and technical skills, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), with over 44,000 trainees participating in AI skills training.

In its next phase, the ministry plans to complete skills surveys in priority sectors, expand the measurement of training outcomes, and strengthen digital integration with government and private-sector entities and service providers. These efforts are intended to support the development of the skills-development ecosystem and align it with evolving labor market demands.

The Skills Accelerator is part of a comprehensive portfolio of initiatives led by the ministry to build national capabilities and develop occupational standards. These initiatives collectively aim to enhance national talent readiness, expand professional development opportunities, and address current and future labor-market needs.
