Sudan Ratifies Charter Establishing Council of Arab and African States Bordering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden

Khartoum-- Sudan has ratified the charter establishing the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, which was signed in Riyadh on January 6, 2022.

The charter aims, according to a statement issued by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, to promote economic cooperation, trade, and investment exchange between the countries bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden for sustainable development and management of sea resources to achieve the United Nations goals of sustainable development and environmental protection and to contribute to strengthening regional and international peace and security and the global economy.
