The Local Authorities in the city of Sulaymaniyah announced that Turkish Airlines had suddenly suspended its flights towards Sulaymaniyah International Airport.

Kurdish media quoted officials at Sulaymaniyah International Airport as saying that they had received an e-mail from Turkish Airlines, stating that it had suspended all flights towards Sulaymaniyah International Airport as of tonight.

The officials indicated that the reasons for the suspension of Turkish Airlines flights are not known until this moment, and that they have contacted the Turkish party to find out the reasons and the date for the resumption of flights.
