Syria Condemns Houthi Drone Attack on Makkah

Damascus: The Syrian Arab Republic condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi militia's targeting of Makkah with drones, stressing that targeting the city or its surroundings or endangering the safety of pilgrims, citizens, and residents constitutes a grave violation of the sanctity of holy sites and an affront to Muslims' sentiments.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement today, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed Syria's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting threats from the Houthi militia and support for any decision the Kingdom takes to safeguard its security.

The ministry stressed the need to respect the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and shield them from the repercussions of regional conflicts.
