Makkah: On the 2nd day of Dhu al-Hijjah, regulatory teams from the Transport General Authority (TGA) conducted over 10,000 road inspections on various transportation means operating during this year’s Hajj season in Makkah and Madinah. The TGA documented more than 1,000 traffic violations and over 140 violations recorded using automated technologies, with a compliance rate of 93%.
The inspections uncovered a range of violations, including operating a transport vehicle without a valid operating card, drivers not adhering to the approved attire set by the TGA, driving without a valid driver’s card, and the absence of proper documentation for transporting goods.
The TGA stated that these regulatory inspections are part of their participation in this year’s Hajj season, 1445 AH, with the aim of ensuring the provision of transportation services in accordance with safety and security requirements. These efforts also seek to improve the efficiency and quality of services for pilgrims and ensure their availability
until the end of the Hajj season.
