TGA Extends Heavy Goods Transport Contracts Until 2027

Riyadh:According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced a six-month extension for establishments engaged in commercial heavy goods transport for their own business purposes. This extension allows these establishments to contract for the transportation of goods they do not own until March 26, 2027.

The TGA stated that the extension aims to enhance sector flexibility and improve the efficiency of road transport fleet utilization. It enables benefiting establishments to optimize their operational capabilities, enhancing flexibility in goods transport operations and better responding to market demands.

The authority emphasized that to benefit from the extension, a transport document must be issued for each shipment in compliance with approved regulatory requirements. This measure is intended to document transport operations, regulate relationships among involved parties, and enhance the reliability and transparency of the activity.

The extension is part of a broader package of regulatory measures aimed at boosting the readiness of the heavy transport sector, improving fleet efficiency, and supporting supply chain stability within the Kingdom.
