The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired here today the Cabinet session. The Cabinet was briefed on the contents of the telephone calls between His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and the president of the French Republic, the president of the Russian Federation, and the prime minister of the Republic of Iraq. These calls focused on joint relations and ways to enhance and develop them. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session, Minister of Media Salman bin Youssef Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet followed up on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas, and the continuous efforts exerted by the Kingdom to end the war on Gaza and support peace efforts in Yemen, in order to achieve regional security and stability, and called on the international community, particularly the active and influential parties, to assume its responsibilities and stop tensions in the region. The Cabinet welcomed the new advisory opinion i ssued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of Israeli presence in the occupied Palestinian territories for the past 57 years, and reiterated the Kingdom's emphasis on the need to take practical and credible steps to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions. At the domestic level, the Cabinet reviewed the latest economic developments and key indicators, including the stabilization, over the past few months, of inflation rates at low levels, lower than the global target, attributed to the robustness of the Kingdom's economy and the effective measures and policies implemented to address the ramifications of raising global prices. The Cabinet went over other items on its agenda and issued several decisions, among which the following: First: Approving the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Law. Second: Authorizing the minister of culture, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation with the Zambian Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts. Third: Authorizing the minister of culture and chairman of the board of trustees of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Fourth: Authorizing the minister of commerce, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of consumer protection with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Fifth: Approving agreements reached with Gambia and Tanzania concerning the employment of workers, including domestic workers. Sixth: Authorizing the minister of industry and mineral resources, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of mineral resources with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique. Seventh: Authorizing the minister of finance, chairman of the board of directors of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, or a deputy, to sign a draft agreement between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to avoid double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion. Eighth: Approving an agreement between Saudi Arabia and Gambia to avoid double taxation on income and the prevent tax evasion. Ninth: Authorizing the minister of transport and logistics, chairman of the board of directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, or a deputy, to sign draft agreements in the field of air transport services with the governments of Guinea and Saint Lucia. Tenth: Authorizing the president of the Human Rights Commission, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of human rights with the National Council for Human Rights of Algeria. Eleventh: Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of social insurance between the Saudi General Organization for Social Insurance and the Moroccan Deposit and Management Fund. Twelfth: Approving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's joining the 2030 Seagrass Breakthrough. Thirteenth: Approving a memorandum of understanding in the field of sustainable waste management between the Saudi National Center for Waste Management and the Bahraini Supreme Council for Environment.
