The Foreign Ministers of Iraq and Iran discuss by phone the Iranian-Saudi dialogue and the Jeddah Summit

Baghdad - Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed with his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdollahian the Iranian-Saudi dialogue and the Jeddah summit.

A Foreign Ministry statement said that the two Ministers discussed, in a phone call, today, Monday, files of common interest in bilateral relations and regional issues, foremost of which is the Iranian-Saudi dialogue in Baghdad.

He added, "The two sides exchanged visions and views on some regional and international issues of common interest, and the Minister touched upon Iraq's participation in the Jeddah Summit, which was held last Saturday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," stressing that "the Iraqi government held necessary dialogues and consultations at the Jeddah Summit regarding Regional cooperation," noting that "Iraq continues its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region."

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister thanked Iraq for its efforts and constructive role in launching and following up regional dialogues in the context of enhancing stability, security and development in the region, declaring Iran's readiness to continue exchanging ideas on bilateral and regional files of common interest.
